Getting started

Welcome to the Cloudflare Application Services Lab for DBS! We'll provide you with three resources for this lab:

1. A Cloudflare account
2. A DNS zone hosted on Cloudflare on the Enterprise Plan with appropriate Subscriptions & Features (provided for in-person labs only)
3. Ubuntu Workstation where you would run parts of the lab from

Introduction

In this series of exercises, you will explore the essential building blocks of deploying and securing an application on Cloudflare. We will cover:

• Using Cloudflare WAF to mitigate L7 Attacks
  • Managed Rules Mitigation
  • Custom Rule writing
  • Advanced Rate Limiting
• Securing your APIs with API Shield
• Securing your users from Client-side attacks with Page Shield
